Remote | Part-Time | Independent Contractor
We are seeking a part-time Medical Director to provide academic, regulatory, and programmatic
leadership for a growing, physician-led occupational medicine and compliance practice scaling
nationally.
This role is focused on clinical governance, regulatory alignment, and program development
rather than direct patient care. The Medical Director will work closely with executive leadership
and legal counsel to support high-quality, compliant, and defensible occupational health
programs across multiple industries.
This is a deliverable-based independent contractor role with the potential to transition into a
full-time leadership position as the organization grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and regulatory oversight for occupational medicine, MRO, DOT and NON-DOT,
FRA, FAA, FMCSA, USCG and PHMSA, MOW and MECH programs - Review, develop, and approve clinical policies, protocols, and educational content
- Ensure alignment of programs with federal and state regulatory standards
- Support quality assurance and peer review processes
- Assist with onboarding organizational clients by addressing clinical and regulatory questions
- Collaborate with legal counsel and executive leadership on compliance and risk management
- Contribute to strategic planning and program expansion
- Maintain and advance clinical standards across all offerings
Experience with educational or training program development is a strong asset.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with Board-Certification in Occupational Medicine or a closely related specialty
- Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state
- Strong background in occupational medicine, MRO, DOT and NON-DOT, FRA, FAA, FMCSA,
USG and PHMSA, MOW and MECH programs - Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance and clinical governance
- Strong written communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Comfort working in a policy-driven, academic, and consultative environment
