What is a bridge prescription refill
A bridge prescription refill is a short-term medication refill intended to help eligible patients maintain continuity of care while they reconnect with their usual healthcare provider or establish ongoing medical care.
Every request is reviewed by an OPPMed physician. Medication approval is based on clinical judgement, patient safety, applicable laws and verification of the current prescription.

Prescriptions Sent Where You Need Them
Preferred Pharmacy
Prescriptions may be electronically transmitted to:
- Local pharmacies
- National pharmacy chains
Home Delivery
When available, eligible medications may qualify for home delivery.

When We May Recommend An Appointment Instead
A bridge refill may not be appropriate if:
- Medication requires monitoring
- Significant changes in symptoms
- Medication side effects
- New diagnosis
- Overdue lab tests
- Medication adjustments are required.
